Instant Messengers never went away, they just evolved. Facebook Messenger may arguably be the single most popular at the moment. SnapChat and Kik are two other very popular ones. Skype can also be considered an instant messenger when not using the video conferencing.   WhatsApp is another one with 350 million active users, but I've never used that one.   Kind of a cool infographic:  

11 years ago mXm was founded by a group of friends in Maine on PS2 playing a game called SOCOM II: US Navy SEALs. As the clan grew, we played it like it was our job. Many friends were made, all nighters were pulled, work days called off and even marriages broken thanks to that SOCRACK. While there may never be another game like it, we'll never go away. Here's to 11 year more years!

Don't let Balz fool you, I've seen him lurking on Skype as well.

​We didn't see it (snow) last night.

​Christmas gifts and gear are still active. Snow is not however. I think they had it on New Years Eve/Day last year though.

Shame about the DDOS against PSN though, I wanted to get some play time in the snow in tonight. Oh well.

I got the new rocket launcher, it makes flying a lot more annoying in public servers though. It locks on so easy to everything.

They just rolled out a Christmas themed update with snow, snowball fights, new weapons and new cars.

Oh my gawd... look at that new content. Looks amazing, aircraft carriers, attack choppers, turrets. Can't wait.

​I opt for AIM or Skype mobile apps on my phone more than text messaging for clan related things, always have. Texting was around in 2003, granted the phones were using T9 back then, but even then it wasn't huge for us. I did do a lot of conference calls when we had a guy named decoy in the clan lol. (Balz will appreciate that)

There was once a time when AIM was a huge portion of the clan's communications structure. Time has changed and Facebook has made things easier for most of us, however I personally still enjoy IMs as an easy way to keep in touch, and heck it's one of my primary methods of discussing things with Balz. I've been AWOL from the PS4 the past week or so, work was getting all my attention. Things are doing better now and my new schedule gives me every weekend off, plus a 3 day weekend every other week so I definitely have more gaming time.
