  1. They started firing on me as soon as I got the binoculars ... So I had to hit the tree line to the left and crawled north till the last 2 rows of houses ... had to stay prone across the road and there was a body there where I got a map but every time I tried to get the weapon  the game shut down ...  once I figured that out I had to crawl to the northern most house and wait for the 6 that came in on the helo ... once I tagged them I could open the map and keep tabs on them . Crawled between the 2 rows of houses till i ended up finding a weapon .... once I got that I was on the other side of town and booked azz up and over hill in a zig zag .... ducked in to the first house I seen ... ducked behind that back gate of that house till trucks went by and booked it to the other side .... stayed south to the 2 broken down buildings there to finally make my RV with Delta ....

That mission was a bit intense ....

That convoy mission was getting that way too but I ended up getting a lucky break on that one ... Staged my truck at the stop sign and my mines on both sides of the truck  in the grass .... I set myself up high and the team down the road by the first house .... once I took out the gun truck I got back to the team and the cargo truck booked azz right for us leaving all his men behind .. I took a shot on the truck and it stopped in the road and tried to turn around to get back ... I ran behind the truck and started shooting till the driver got out and took him out ... was able to jump in the truck and took off about 1/4 mile and had the team run to me .... 2 of the 4 made it but we got the truck rather easy like ...

For that ambush mission I parked the truck and team way out of sight. Laid the explosives spaced so it would hit the first and last truck. Waited. Blew those up, killed the driver of the other truck, mopped up a couple survivors, ditched the AI and drove the truck back to the base. lol

  2. This game ... once you get to Adapt .... hot damn that first mission .... kicking my azz ... made it to Delta a few time just to get shot or blown up ... I mean I was to the point where Delta leader started to talk and I died so had to re start the mission from the beginning ... why is there no save points and why cant I save a point .. it has the save locked up ....

There was a patrol of two guys, they go towards some buildings and you can sneak into the rubble before they fire. They will fire, don't get me wrong, but you'll be in cover. Then the helicopter comes in to drop off more, you can either mow those guys down, or take off around the back towards the hills before they get out.

Worked for me, ended up fully armed and ready to go for the rest of that mission.

  3. It is the first mission in the adapt folder ... where you are alone and have to find your way to delta squad .... it is a solo mission ... the AI are really tough to get through with just a handgun with only 1 clip ... you have to really do some stealth thinking .... I finally beat it .... but now stuck trying to take down a convoy and retrieve the supply truck and take it to the hideout.

Run straight into the ruins in the first village, the dead rebels have ammo, a rifle, map and gps I believe.

  4. The directional/mini-compass that was in persistent in the middle is pretty cool. I will have to look for that. Also, there seemed to be a chat notifier or something that would pop up on the right; I wonder what that was.

That's a ShackTac mod I believe in regards to the compass.

  5. In the armory I believe they are in the support bin next time you have a chance to load out. Enemies may or may not have them equipped, but if they do they wont show in your inventory where your grenades are, but in the upper right near the binoculars and hats and sunglasses.

L will turn on a flashlight if you have one on your rifle, or if you have an IR pointer it will turn that on when used with NVG.

  6. It's been all this weekend, but you can still get in on this if you haven't. 50% off ARMA III on Steam.

(Balz & Andy, remember how I said it would probably go on sale a week after we all got it? It's been a little more than a week but still.. damn it! lol)

  7. Scrolling through grenades is a keybinding, you can find what yours is in the game configuration menu. (I've changed mine)

Medkits are used when injured via the scroll wheel/ options menu. An asterisk appears when one can be used.

Toolkits, explosives, drones, etc are also used via scroll wheel.

  8. Well I found them first try behind that same rock ... thanks for the help .. Level done .

No problem, it was relatively smooth sailing for me from that mission on.

  9. Yup, my router operates on 2 different frequencies and bounces devices between whichever is performing the best at the time, while also constantly scanning for the least crowded channel. No issues with any WiFi devices. We often have the tower on, a laptop or tablet going and up to 3 SmartTVs streaming with 0 perceived loss.

They are directly below my UAV on the map, which is just to the left of the green question mark. Hope that helps. (click for full res)

  11. I think I keep going to the wrong place .... I am not finding anything to target .... going to try again ... #15 might be the ticket .....

I'll try and screengrab where they were on my map

  12. I have been able to successfully launch ..... was airborne for about 10 seconds before the uav was shot out of the sky

The AI is way to accurate ....

AI never took a shot at mine. Any crash was due to pilot error in my game.

  13. Trying to figure out this uav is frustrating me at this point .... i get the uav pack and such and get the uav in the air but as soon as i do i die or the uav gets distroied before i find the spotter for morters .... had to turn the game off and go to the skate park this morning and take my frustrations out on my board .... getting ready to try this uav thing again here shortly once the wife goes off on her little things she has to do today

Make sure you assemble it in the open. I kept clipping roof overhands at first. You can switch to TPS mode by pressing enter on the number pad for easier flying. Shift is up, z is down. Use WSAD for you basic controls while using the mouse for the more precise adjustments.

The spotter is along the ridgeline with the church. If you're looking at the church, go right and follow the treeline, it's only two guys. (You can toggle thermal to spot them even easier). Be advised there is a friendly team on the opposite ridge. You can tell by their gear who's who.

Once you see him turn on autohover with the options wheel (middle mouse) and then in the options menu scroll down to Take Turret Controls. Paint him and he'll get blown up. Then you're done with the UAV.

I am currently starting my first mission on Adapt, and everything up to this point was a piece of cake. I'm stranded with no gear, no map and a sidearm with 14 rounds. Thats it.

  14. So I noticed today they were running a promotion for new customers to get faster internet speeds at the same price I currently pay for 30. So after a 45 minute phone call, I can post my revised speed:

  15. Only cause I was asked too...

This is over the Wireless N Router and N adapter in my current set up. Have ordered a wireless AC Router and adapter, will test again once that is all set up.

    Massive improvement Number 1.

Definitely need to clear up that bottleneck. Upload is outstanding though.

  16. We had one of these going in the past, back then I believe my result was around 1.5mbps download. Sad.. dark days. lol

What's everyone working with these days? Balz, feel free to show off.

  17. The second wave on the hill is rough, I was already wounded at that point which made it worse. If I recall correctly I let the NPC go off and do his thing drawing fire, while I broke off to the right a bit and put down the sniper. He's prone in the tall grass, can be tricky to spot. Once I got him and his spotter or medic or whoever was with him, it made picking off the rest of them easier without fear of being sniped in the face every two seconds.

  18. If that is true, then that would be nice. It is one of the things I was looking forward to when I first reached out to mXm.

The "welcome letter" actually was an appreciation letter that was sent out at one point to current members during our SOCOM Confrontation days. That was a one time deal.

(We do like to do similar things from time to time for our membership though)

The patches, those are typically sent out 1 per member after 1 full year of enlistment. Which I believe you should now be eligible for.

Balz has the bulk of the patches. I have a few spares too. Eitherway, we should be able to get one to you.

  19. It does take some time to get used to. I still get hung up on some controls after 20+ hours.

I suggest going to the NATO missions that I mentioned in another thread. It's only you and the open world with your weapons and all the vehicles at your disposal to get used to.

The single player campaign is setup in a way that it walks you through controls and such as well.
