What I really hate is having to put more money into a car than you win by beating all the races that need the car.

I haven't driven about 90% of the cars I won, but of the ones I have, my 1969 Corvette Convertible is my favourite. 550hp, full upgrades on suspension, transmission, etc etc. Flies down the straights, and even corners pretty well. I love kicking the back end of it out exiting corners, which is real easy to do in that car, regardless of the tires.

Season 16 is due to start January 23rd! I can't wait! I've heard they have been seen in New York City with some outstanding cars, as well as in the middle east (can't remember exactly which country). Should be a good season!

Especially if you're the man who's just built a new one-off Lancia Stratos... based on the underpinnings of a Ferrari F430. That's the sort of ‘homage' that could, in theory, rub Luca up the wrong way. You don't want to rub Luca up the wrong way. No surprise, then, that Michael Stoschek - the German businessman behind the New Stratos - invited Monty (as absolutely no one calls him on pain of bad things) for a few laps of Fiorano in the prototype ‘Lancia'. The verdict? A big thumbs-up from the Ferrari big cheese. Click the pointy-arrow-button to see di Montezemolo giving the Stratos some delicious-sounding death around Ferrari's test track before scrawling graffiti over the engine bay and then, perhaps wisely, heaping praise on Stoschek's creation. I agree with balz on the tires, but that's about it. I upgrade suspension and transmission next though. Nothing worse than turning the wheel and having to wait for the car to finish rolling before you actually get around the corner. Sport suspension is great for keeping roll to a minimum. I would then do simple power upgrades and simple weight reduction to help with the handling.

Sony has released an official statement about the online performance of Gran Turismo 5, which launched yesterday after over five years in development. "Because GT5 performs online access not only when participating in online races and using community features, but also when starting the game and during the various screen displays in GT Mode," said Sony's statement, "this online congestion is also affecting standard gameplay." Sony has recommended that, as a temporary fix, players wishing to play the offline part of the game should disconnect from the internet, and that it is working on solutions to help the network performance. Meanwhile Kazunori Yamauchi said further improvements would be coming to Gran Turismo 5. "Online updates are planned of course for leaderboards and matchmaking." Yamauchi said at the game's launch in Madrid (attended by Eurogamer), "[they're] all planned in the process of evolution." The first update, Yamauchi said, is coming this Saturday and will include restrictions for weight and power in online races. The biggest problem I had with the VW was when I braked late and got the inside line, the AI would run into me and I'd be disqualified. Happened a few times, as well as knocking over a cone or two before I gave up.

Real clanmates, eh? I played until about 9pm tonight and didn't notice any slowdowns at all, and I'm even on Canadian internet.
