You're late to the party, Thanksgiving was last month hosers!

I got Killzone as a free game from Amazon, the reason I chose it was because I had read it made good use of the next-gen features of the PS4.

I can say after playing it for more than a few hours that is does indeed make great use of the new controller. Rather than having your health on an indicator on the HUD, the light on the DS4 is actually your health indicator, it changes from green to yellow to orange to red and flashy depending your damange in game and regnerates over time. It is a pretty cool feature.

The speaker is a cool way to immerse yourself in game a bit more too, when you stumble upon "audio logs" left by other people in the story line it plays over the speaker and comes across like you're actually listening to a recording your holding in your hands, it wasn't game changing, but it was a nice touch.

The touch pad is used for changing your drone options, you get this little drone to help you do certain things, and can switch it from attack to stun and such with a quick swipe of the touch pad. It isn't intrusive and actually comes kind of naturally given the use of smartphones.

Overall I'm not a big fan of FPS or futurey FPS for that matter, but I find myself enjoying this Killzone game. I've never played a Killzone game so I can't compare it to the ones that came before it, but the story line isn't terrible and more importantly the storyline doesn't seem as linear as most FPS games out there. I enjoy that you can explore a bit and find your own path on some levels, not all, but some.

I haven't touched the multiplayer and don't know if I will, but everything else has been a nice introduction into the PS4 so far, and it will be interesting to see how far things develop in 5 years once devs take full advantage of the consoles potential.

This is key right here.  100% of reviewers could shit all over the game, but if you have fun playing it what does it matter?

I'd be okay with a digital upgrade, but how would that work? Have your PS3 physical copy in the drive while playing the PS4 digital copy?

Yeah the guy is a little ridiculous. Although I found out yesterday that EB Games doesn't take a federally issued firearms licence as valid photo ID, which is ridiculous. I left my drivers licence in the car and didn't want to have to go back to get it, but they wouldn't take the firearms licence. Odd, but I didn't nerd rage over it haha.

Nothing really.
Work, brewing beer (takes an entire evening if I do it after work), shooting (military surplus competition coming up this Saturday, can't wait, even though I'm going in handicapped with an inferior rifle than most other people), and taking care of the family. That's all really.
I haven't been online in a while because I usually get on weekends, but I've been camping with friends and family for the past few weekends. Love cooking on an open flame, everything tastes so much better.

My favorite thing is the remote mouse app on android that I use when I have my laptop streaming on my TV via HDMI and out of range, and it also has an awesome powerpoint remote as well. I can also setup sharing between my phone and my computer to share files and such that comes in handy.

I would say 'tell the wife how it is' but I know all too well...

As we go out to dinner I hear a group of people singing happy birthday... it was a surprise party where a group of our friends drove an hour to spend it with us on the bay. You won't be the oldest gamer that hangs out in the community. (ha ha Odin) and I am 37. But the age range here goes from early 20's into the 40's.

It was definitely all downhill from S3. We some how manged to stay alive and even pick up some new members along the way. We are a laid back group that like to get our frag (and race) on as a way to relax. Also, Andy will teamkill you in a hot second, without warning. Don't take it personal, he cant help it, he's Canadian.

You obviously have the loyalty trait, being with a clan for 5 years from S2-S4.
Just curious, why are you no longer part of the clan? Did they disband, was it your move to PC gaming, etc?

When the two new consoles were announced, it was decided on that we would jump ship to Xbox. I spent an entire paycheque getting a used Xbox 360 so I could play with my beloved mXm, and get into some serious online racing with Balz on Forza.

THEN we jumped ship again :handjob: to PS3 and I had to sell my Xbox 360 to buy a used PS3 so I could once again be with my beloved mXm on SOCOM: Confrontation.

Needless to say I'm pretty glad we're fairly set on which next-gen console we're decided on. :rocker: :headbang: :intoit:

After having joined the Sony forums trying to get my headset to work properly (as many did) I perused through each of the SOCOM sub-forums they offered, and kept seeing this clan, mXm. Never a negative word from any sane individual (we all know the words of Manny_Rayy, or however he spelled it). I was intrigued. Never having been in a clan before, it sounded like fun, but from what I saw on the forums, getting into mXm was a very prestigious event, and having only just signed up for the forums, I never thought I'd be recruited. I ended up joining Omni-Tek [.:.] with Assault-Rylox being the leader and had some fun with those guys, being a no-BS clan themselves. We had some fun, and got to play with mXm on a regular basis. I instantly understood where everyone came from - everyone on mXm was easy going, no seriousness whatsoever, and one of the VERY few clans who actually allowed, and encouraged, the use of grenade launchers/rocket launchers. Little did I know this would really be a curse thanks to the surgical precision of one BalzOnYer4Head.
Then one of the greatest things happened - a message from Assault-Rylox indicating that we would be merged with mXm.
Remember when I said I never thought I'd be recruited? Yeah, I really was never recruited.

That was almost 10 short years ago, and in that decade there has been so much shit go on in this clan, but we've never strayed from our roots, regardless of the challenges that were put in front of us, and that is the original reason I wanted to join this clan, and one of the reasons I'm still here today.
