I want to chime in since at 2 points in my life I have carried the torch for both of these franchises. Here is my beef with Battlefield franchise. (this Gen) BF I just cant deal with 30 fps in a shooter. It's 2013 and playing a shooter that is 30fps is just not acceptable. Also, the PC version has 16 v 16 which is really what this game was built on and the console version is 12 v 12 which at times the game just never feels like you are in an epic battle. I spend most of my time running back to the area where I got shot. Overall, for me, the fun factor was just not there. The maps were bland and boring as well. Yes, team tactics were somewhat there on console but this game is built for PC gaming with an inferior port to the consoles. I do feel this will change with the PS4/Xbox One coming). Also, I don't care to be locked into a 30minute battle that I have to complete. Being an older gamer with kids, Its hard to commit to that type of timeframe when I need to drop my controller at any given time. When I was younger with less responsibility I loved this type of stuff, but with smaller chunks of gaming time, the appeal of Epic Scale Battles I believe is passed me by. This does not mean I carry the COD torch either. I do feel a sense of fatigue with the franchise, but also feel this type of game appeals more to my lifestyle at this point. Quick, easy, and just plain fun in small chunks. I have seriously considered picking up Killzone: Shadowfall as the VITA version on the handheld is extremely fun and it looks beautiful on the PS4. Overall, I will buy both games. And simply play the one I like the most and possibly trade the other one like I did for PS3. Both games serve different purposes so I don't think there is a need to choose between the two. I enjoy still playing Blops 2. I like them better than the Modern Warfare Series. Cmon November 15th!

What I never understood is all the bitching about COD being Run N Gun when they have a mode called Seek and Destroy that plays more like SOCOM with the one death per round... if they expanded on that part of it, they could capture both gaming cultures. The sad truth of it all, is the majority want the run n gun all the time with no tactics.

Induced, if you contact me, I can tell you all about URGENT FURY. I was a part of the APC clan back then where Undertow was a co-creator of that tournament. It started out as a "RISK BASED" type of game with a few wrinkles. They eventually sold it off to SONY and is an official backer of that tournament so it was pretty cool watching it grow from its infancy into what it is today. Actually, that is how I got to know these guys in mXm originally.

The only thing out of line was when she said, "Did you get that on film? I should give all of you his business card so you can email him blah blah" That would have gotten her in trouble with her boss truthfully which prompted him to come back. I would have told him much earlier I am calling the cops... You now have a GTA 2 star rating sir... keep it up and it will go up to 3! lol

For some reason it would let me post on that, but this guy was totally in the wrong and I thought the store manager handled herself extremely well. Towards the end she got a little insulting to him but it was well deserved. You need a photo ID with pre-pay. Plain and simple and this guy just loses it.

Why wait? It will be a year off or so I bet. Plus, the time is now... we are still 2 months away from the PS4 release and Rockstar is not going to want to compete with itself. Suck it up and plunk down the $60.00 bones! lol

I coach baseball in the Summer and then going into the fall I coach 13U Football (7th-8th graders) so Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday I am at the football fields with games on Saturdays. I am the offensive coordinator. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I am taking my girls to field hockey practice so every night I am busy. Friday nights are my only "off" nights but usually my youngest Lily (21 months) keeps me away from my PS3. That is why you mainly see me playing my PS VITA online due to multi-tasking. (Killzone Mercenary out today on VITA and is awesome!) I am currently converting my garage into a new 24x24 rec room where my PS4 will live. Getting a 65inch TV and building a custom wall and sound system just for that with a 9x9 ft sectional couch for ultimate gaming indulgence. I am also laying tile in there for a bar/kitchen area so a part of the room you can eat and drink while watching sports and playing video games… (Induced horizon) it is crazy that you build shuffleboards as I would be interested in buying one for my rec room if you are selling them. We can talk. ill post pictures once I have it completed in the next 3 to 4 weeks. I also play guitar and write music in my free time since I am a retired Chicago musician from the band Slipstream. My wife for my 40th birthday got me a new Gibson Hummingbird electric acoustic so I am playing the shit out of that. (INDUCED I noticed I am only 9 days older than you! August 9th 1973). I pretty much am a homebody as I have everything I need at home. Awesome wife, 4 kids, and good friends in the neighborhood. I just moved my PS3 into my bedroom in hopes that I can get online to play with you guys more frequently as after my wife falls asleep I can fire it up with my gaming headphones. She wakes up early so its not a problem to game after 9pm or so. I live on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland so I am always eating seafood or sitting at a dock bar. Eventually when my youngest daughter is older, I will start playing out live again doing acoustic sets. Looking forward to getting back into gaming hardcore when the ps4 and my rec room is done! Damn. A lot on this list I want. Need for Speed Rivals, COD, BF4, FIFA 14, For those that own a PS Vita or plan to get one, KILLZONE MERCENARIES is awesome. BETA testing it now and is a very nice FPS on a handheld with great graphics and gameplay. Looking forward to the full release of that.

Easy purchase to recommend... Great game all around. The shooting mechanics feel alot like COD and the tropical environments are fun to play in. Probably the best SandBox shooter game this generation. Much like Induced Horizon, I still have alot left to do and plan on finishing it one day, but is a must have for any serious gamer's library.

I can understand your dissapointment. It was a beautiful game with a cool premise, but they did water it down alot. Its called "TOMB" Raider for a reason. And the "Tombs" werent even a focus but sort of add ons to the main storyline. While I enjoyed the game, I do miss the isolationism of the original (Tomb Raider Anniversary was well done)... The LAst of US is the best single player experience I think I have ever had with a videogame... was awesome in every way.

Thanks guys.... I was away all weekend partying with my wife. She outdid herself and took me away to a local resort. As we go out to dinner I hear a group of people singing happy birthday... it was a surprise party where a group of our friends drove an hour to spend it with us on the bay. It was very special, as well as the surprise Gibson Hummingbird acoustic guitar she got me. This was my best birthday ever. Thanks for the post!

It is starting to sink in that this game is actually happening... in the meantime to get ready for some One Life action that is SOCOM, how about we stick to Search and Destroy mode on BlopsII. That mimics SOCOM more than any mode and is more intense than Domination/TDM. Ill play whatever, but I find Search and Destroy more satisfying as when you are dead... you are. dead! =)

I have a gaming laptop that I play CIvilization V on as well as Age of Empires III and Age of Mythology. My PC Gaming preference is usually RTS or TBS games as I leave shooters and racers to my console... nice to meet you Ghost Matt...

Never have, and never will own an XBOX... Always Sony... since SOCOM1.

The H-Hour forums are filled with this stuff... so awesome to see the outpouring of support for this revival of the SOCOM way.
