I have no expectations for this game really. I will buy it and give it a fair shot after seeing all the maps and game modes. I have no problem going back to Call of Duty if that is the case. I have watched tons of footage online and have been reading forums and I see about a 50/50 split. But everyone dislikes the camera being too tight behind the player blocking the view etc. I prefer TPS over FPS but lets not shit on this game just yet until retail. If you want, hold off on your pre-order until a few of us play it out and can tell you if its worth the money or not. You KNOW they will release classic map packs... its inevitable. Maybe, just maybe, Socom 1&2 was lightening in a bottle. I have never had a game since hook me like that.

Kotaco, Sony ALWAYS does their PSN update on Tuesday between 4-7pm so that was no surprise, but yeah, a 1.5gig patch is pretty big. the update took me about 45 minutes. Who is your ISP out there? You must be on the edge of a network reach. That happened to me when I was in the Chicago burbs. I had to get a booster pack. Have you called and talked to your ISP about it? Since the beginning... Socom1. I first started out in the GODS clan which is where the name "ODIN" came from. It got too big and I split off and formed my own clan MYTH for a while in SOCOM II. Realizing being a clan leader and managing too many personalities and complaints was a pain in the ass, I decided to do my own thing and play solo for a while. I kept running with the APC guys for a good 4-6 months before they asked me to join since I wasnt looking for a clan. I originally met Ballz and a few mXm during my time in APC. (I think mXm did URGENT FURY with us which was the first encounter i think.) The APC clan was well run and a tight group for a long time, however they became a serious tournament clan and demanded you log alot of playing time etc and it stopped being fun. I always enjoyed playing with a few clans like C420 and F&B (not realizing it was the majority of mXm from the heyday). A few of us ex-APCers found we mixed well with mXm while playing SOCOM confrontation. I am the only one left from that merger. I am looking forward to getting back into SOCOM mode as 4 comes out. I do enjoy COD but its just not the same as the SOCOM addiction I had since 2002. I will fully support SOCOM4 unless it takes a huge dump on my console... lets just hope it doesnt suck. Thats my story... O~

Slant Six didnt deserve the beating they took. I thought the game engine they built was great, I think sony made them rush it out the door and let them take the rap for it. I am sure all the DLC that was planned was shelved due to having to fix the game during its entire life cycle. I have a feeling with Socom4, Zipper is going to have several map packs that will be something like 2 new and 2 classic maps for 9.99 or 14.99. If they were smart, that is what I would do. I believe Zipper will bring the classic maps to light since they can see the demand for it on most forums.

hard to tell from such a short trailer. looks promising to me. I am sure Slant Six will do a great job. The RE community isnt as vicious as the Socom community but I am sure they already have their flame retarded vests in storage from the roasting they took from SOCOM.

I still dont see the benefit yet because most of the games they discount or try to give away for free I already own. 50 bucks a month to get access to betas first isnt that big of a deal to me. If you have 50 bucks laying around I would say yes, but I still havent felt the need to get it yet.

I dont see the value in it. Most of the stuff they discount I already own or you get like 2-3 bucks off. I think its like 50 bucks to get, but unless you buy alot of PSN stuff (download only games) or early access to betas its not worth it in my opinion.

I pre-ordered 2 copies yesterday at Gamestop yesterday (one for me and my stepson). Gamestop has the exclusive ABANDONED classic map so make sure you get it there if you havent done so already. I also picked up MLB 11 The Show. =)

I think the clan shield IS the logo... I agree with Ballz... it looks like a headless eagle and a bit too busy...

Honestly, none of these logos hold a flame to the shield you already made in your logo... my vote is to take the logo from the shield to keep it simple and uniform.... love the shield.
