Ahh World of Warcrack... that has taken down many a soul... I stayed away from it for that reason, however the first 2 socoms did a number on me as well... something about SOCOM 1 would keep me up til 4am and then go to work the next day like a zombie only to wash, rinse, and repeat cycle all over again. I am getting my 10 yr old stepson a PS3 for Xmas and he is already getting the COD bug watching me... I play Madden, FIFA, and Rockband with him so I get my gaming fix in with him. Sorry to hear about your situation. Gaming can be addicting... Its hard for me to put the controller down but the minute I have to comtemplate it, I know its time to turn it off and walk away...

Its true.... I bought Black Ops there and got 25 bucks back on rewards points!! I also just picked up Castlevania for 39.99 on sale at Kmart. its like getting 2 brand new games for 75.00. Not a bad deal.... =)

Will it be out for Xmas? Looks like Need for Speed sales will go up because of this... this could be a good thing for that game because GT5 will swallow the racing industry. Played the demo a bit more last night and saw Ballz playing also. I REALLY dig how it automatically ranks your time against your friends. Thats cool. Burnout did this but not in this fashion. You can feel the social media integration with this. I just saw EA just signed a big deal with facebook. In the future you are going to see more social integration in games. Criterion always puts out a premier product. If the Burnout series is any indication, then Need for Speed needs to be in your library. It has its place along side of GT5.

I got the joke... it was pretty obvious! but if you really want to laugh, notice the "ruler" on the right that goes up to 7... if size is any indication, his "shaft" would be about 14 inches!!! lol

I loved their tactical whiteboards from S1 & S2... I miss those days of addiction! *sigh*

When I say alternative I dont mean as a replacement, I mean as a change of pace from the realistic intensity of GT5. Ill be playing both.

I just played the demo to Need for Speed and looks promising. Even though it feels like the sequel to Burnout Paradise that necessarily isnt a bad thing. Check it out in the PSN store and tell me what you think. This could be a good alternative to GT5 for those looking for good racing fun mixed with cop chases and pursuits. that was a decent game on WII.... the MOVE is pretty nice... much more accurate than the WII

I dig MoH online.... moreso than COD... I will buy Black Ops but I am sure Ill find my way back to MoH.

the reason why the game layouts are different is because the online and single player are two totally seperate game engines. Danger Close did the single player build while DICE did the online... I find it a bit strange that the 2 studios wouldnt have wanted to synch up the gameplay mechanics... it defeats the whole purpose of "let me play the single player to prepare my online game experience" since the single player is a different game.

good news.... the Undead Nightmare DLC will also be released on a physical disc (ala GTA: Episodes from Liberty City) with the 2 online expansion packs and online co-op missions as well as the Undead Nightmare DLC. Rockstar says it takes about 10+ hours to complete so it is a massive DLC coming out Oct 26th.... for those of you who never played this I highly recommend picking it up.
