  1. I missed the last 2 days of the BETA due to vacation, but I was really enjoying the online multiplayer quite a bit. Balz is right. This BETA feels extremely polished and I find myself missing playing this already which is a good sign. In the meantime, I am picking up The Last of US Remastered for PS4 and will be on that multiplayer as well. I am looking forward to playing this game again and delving into the DLC which I missed on the PS3. For those of you who haven't played this game on PS3, do yourself a favor and experience it. The online Multiplayer is 4v4 and slower paced like SOCOM. But back to Destiny, my pre-order is paid off! Looking forward to some good gaming this fall. O~

    EA Access

The only thing I can see sinking this deal is how quickly EA adds the new games to this subscription. For example, Madden 15 comes out in less than a month. Nobody will want to play Madden 25 when the new game comes out. Same with FIFA 14 etc. Bettlefield 4 everyone owns already if they are playing it. Ill wait and see how well it does if it ever comes to PS4...
  3. Loooooove ENEMY AT THE GATES! I own that movie. Considering the PS4 is still in its Infancy, I can see maybe picking this game up to kill some time. I will be picking up The Last of Us next Tuesday. The online MP on that Brian might appeal to you as its a lot slower paced and you have to build your weapons with parts you find around the map. For ANYONE who has yet to play TLOU, the Remaster edition comes out next Tuesday and is worth your 50 bucks easily! O~
  4. You are right Andy, and I am sure in the BETA forums, someone probably made mention of that as it would have been better to use your finger to scroll on the touch pad.
  5. Hello All, I know a few of us in clan have had an opportunity to play the BETA for Destiny and would like to start an open discussion about the potential of this game. I know currently, Balz, Bold, and myself are playing the BETA. I would like to share my initial impressions to help those in mXm who are following this game. First off, I would like to say its a beautiful looking game. The vast worlds and textures even in BETA look superb! But I do not want to get into graphics and the like since I really want to go over the mechanics and feel of the game. For those who have played Borderlands, Halo, and Mass Effect, you will see a lot of gameplay elements from these games incorporated into DESTINY. I, for one, loved the addiction of Borderlands where you would find and collect massive amounts of loot, guns, ammo upon exploration and from killing enemies with weapon drops etc. In my first few hours with Destiny I have to admit I found myself looking for more loot drops and finding chests and be rewarded for looking beyond the obvious paths to your objective but I am thinking, maybe in BETA, these things aren't as populated as the final build. That I do not know, but I would love to see more rewards for exploring the terrain etc. Maybe the game is so massive that they limit a lot of these things for the pacing of the game for grinding and leveling purposes. This is a minor gripe, but I felt myself longing for the weapon drops that borderlands provided. Also, My initial feel of the UI was that it was built for PC as you have to use your R3 button for choosing items in the menu screens. It took a little getting used to but got comfortable with it right away. It felt like a mouse was the preferred method for the menus but the R3 button served just fine. Weapons: So far in the early stages, the weapons felt decent and the overall controls felt a tad stiff, even though you can adjust the speed and sensitivity, it didn't feel as tight as BF or COD controls but not a deal breaker at all. I would say its a tad under the feel of BF4/COD controls. Overall, the mission structure is HUB based where you need to chose your destination from a tower via a map. I really like that as sometimes in a game like Elder Scrolls, it can be cumbersome sometimes to walk, but I think for the grand scheme of the game, this is a great decision. Inside the tower you can visit shops to buy weapons, upgrades, and ship repairs/upgrades that feels a lot like Borderlands to me. You even have vaults where you can store your inventory and meet up with your faction to collect rewards for things you find in missions and such. I have yet to get to multiplayer as I haven't hit level 5 yet, so I will let the others comment on this, but this game is a day 1 purchase for me as I see already in BETA how polished this game feels and how awesome it will be to co-op with mXm on here in a way we have yet to do outside of our typical FPS/3PS style. Overall, I wouldn't say this game is groundbreaking as it borrows a lot from itself (Bungie), as well as Diablo/Borderlands/Halo/Mass Effect, but what it does is take the best elements from those games and do it right. Overall so far I am very impressed with the BETA, but I still am VERY early into the gameplay to make more elaborate observations, but this is a must buy for anyone who loves deep immersive gameplay that you can play with friends. More to come... and please feel free to add on for those who are BETA testing. O~
  6. I would be open to that. I would also be open to doing a Skype group chat to discuss gaming, and any other hobbies people have. Great idea.
  7. I have never heard of this movie. I IMDB'd it and see Ed Harris is in there. Good cast. I like the concept. I wonder if it is on Netflix or Amazon, Ill have to check.
  8. I will download it today and check it out. I never played the games you mentioned, but the closest thing I can think of is FATAL FRAME. That was scarier than any Resident Evil game and the idea behind it was fascinating. I hear there is a new one in the works somewhere. Does it have a Monster Hunter feel to it as well? The logo looks similar to Monster Hunter's.
  9. Yep! I cant tell if those are Grand Nationals or Monte Carlos when I pause it at the end.
  10. Oh yeah VOLTRON I was obsessed... that was a great show! Great storyline.
  11. I think that thing is BADASS! It looks light too... but as long as there are motorcycle clubs out there, the classic style will never fade. This will appeal to the crotch rocket types that want the name Harley on their bike... it reeks of cross over, but a smart marketing move for HD to appeal to a wider audience.
  12. I am sorry, but I run from Anime! The ONLY video game I would ever play anime style was Valkyria Chronicles which they need to port to the VITA, but other than that, I cant get into the style of it because it reminds me of Japanese pedophilia... The way they portray young girls I find a bit disturbing. I guess its because of the industry I am in that I cant work with it. When I was a little kid, I would watch a show called KIMBA and also Speed Racer... that's about as ANIME as I got. O~
  13. I heard it was realllly bad! Marcus Beer (of Invisible Walls/Annoyed Gamer formerly of gametrailers.com) called it a 3 hour TURD! lol...
  14. I still play Age of Mythology and Age of Empires III... Also CIV 5 on my computer. I am not very good at them as I am what you would call a "turtle". I like to build up my defenses before venturing out, but I enjoy it nonetheless... What is your Skype Clarence? I am Chadrock15. I am on Skype ALL DAY for work. O~
  15. I haven't, and was really surprised with the low key promotion of it. Ill wait for video... as I do with most movies with a 2.5 yr old at home. heheh.

    GTA V PS4

For some reason in the back of my mind when I traded it on PS3, I knew it would be ported to PS4, but this looks like more than a port, but a re-enhancement on all fronts. Day one purchase, even though I am digging Watch Dogs more at the moment. I cant find the article at the moment, but a hacker found original source code in Watch Dogs of the graphics from the E3 2013 showing. Seems as though they nerfed the graphics to make it easier to produce the game multi-platform for last gen and current gen. GTA V looked good already on the PS3 so I am excited to see the final release.
  17. Welcome to mXm Clarence... Glad to have you here and look forward to gaming with you. O~
  18. Ok, now I see why you are grinning, the second trailer was awesome... the first one didn't do anything for me as I want to see gameplay, so the second trailer is where its at. I feel some SOCOM in there as well as THE LAST OF US. I am totally loving how they bring up the holographic map... that's very fresh!
  19. Clarence, You, my man, understand the dilemma of a hardcore gamer turned dad lifestyle. In the peak of my days, I played SOCOM non-stop and rarely ate or slept. I would be up on the latest AAA titles and bought every game that peaked my interest, and would be the "go to" guy in my circle of friends to ask if a game was worthy of a purchase or not. I understand what you mean by "best in class" per genre as being a father of young children, you only have time for one game per genre. I know a lot of people have moved on from Call of Duty, but I find its style of play much more fitting for jump in and out gameplay more so than BF4. I am not a fanboy by any means, but I found BF4 to be somewhat of a letdown. For all of the hype it received and the launch being a disaster, it will prevent me from adopting BF: Hardline until I hear positive things on the stability of that game. Fool me once, shame on you... full me twice... you know the drill. For me, I find myself playing: WatchDogs Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare/Ghosts (My go to FPS for my lifestyle and enjoy it.) MLB14 The Show No Mans Sky (really has peaked my interest and it is also random generated content each time) Minecraft PS4 The Division. ( I am prepared for the overhype like WatchDogs. It will be a great game but will not get over excited until I play it.) The Last of Us Remaster: Favorite overall game of PS3. Want this for the DLC since I traded this and want to see the enhancements and experience this gem of a game again.) Destiny is leaving me feeling a bit underwhelmed as it doesn't look that impressive to me. Call me crazy, but for the budget they have put into that game, I am lacking the WOW factor as it looks like everything else out there. That 7 minute gameplay trailer I stopped watching after 5min because it left me feeling MEH. I hope I am wrong but that's the vibe I got. VITA: Spelunky MLB 14 The Show Killzone Mercenary (My go to shooter there as well as BOT MODE!) Hotline Miami (looking forward to 2) Borderlands 2 I still need to finish Tomb Raider (Definitive Edition on PS4) and Assasin's Creed Black Flag as Ive barely scratched that.) I am sure I am missing games that I will buy (like GTA V PS4 and DriveClub) but that's where I am right now. When baseball season is over (I coach 13-15 yr old kids) and summer hits, I will have a lot more free time to game. Anybody else want to share? O~
  20. I plan on trying out War Thunder as I love WWII air to air combat games. It also has tank warfare and received very nice reviews. PAIN was out on PS3 in the first year and was a good time waster so a port to VITA makes obvious sense as you can play it in short bursts. I will always wave the flag for the VITA. Its a kick ass handheld system and you can remote play anything on the PS4. I am surprised more people don't have one. Its really picking up steam with Borderlands 2, Killzone, MLB 14, and TONS of indie games like Hotline Miami, Spelunky, and Terraria that get lots of play from me. I think I play my VITA more than my consoles just because of my lifestyle right now with my daughter being a TV hog! =)

  22. Good to hear Clarence, as I spend more time on my VITA then I do on my PS3/PS4 as my daughter hijacks the TVs... you still need to pick up Borderlands 2! (HEading to lunch to get my copy of Mario Kart 8 today)... Nintendo at least can still do that right!
  23. First thing I noticed is how clean the game looks... you definitely cant judge graphics by YouTube or internet vids as they are compressed and are never 1080p, but it feels good so far. Too early to judge, but I do like how every person in the game has a story... Job, income etc. so when you kill someone or check someone out you get info on them. It kind of puts a life to person instead of just killing random people. I inverted my Y axis and cranked up the movement speed to 100% on my aim and it feels good. My wife has some college work to do tonight so I hope to spend a lot of time with it after 9pm.
  24. I need to drive about 30min one way on my lunch break to pick it up. I don't know how much time ill get with it today as I have a baseball game tonight. Let me know of first impressions. Also, Mario Kart 8 comes out Friday... that's a must buy if you have 4 kids! lol
  25. Do you ride with a club? or just friends that ride?
