  1. I'm in the same boat Kotaco... I think I am level 3 as well and prefer the close quarters stuff like TDM and Domination I think... the controls are identical to COD so there is zero time getting acquainted with the controls. Is there a main night when peeps can get on BF4? I have yet to play with anyone on anything PS4 related! Right now I am enjoying KILLZONE online a lot (More than Ghosts) and do play COD for the familiarity and quick in and outness of it. We should start pegging down dates of playtimes. One thing that was pretty neat with my old clan APC is they would post a daily "Who's Logging On" thread. If you knew you were going to be on a simple I WILL would do to get an idea. Nothing is ever perfect, but if you can see during the day that 3 mXm or more will be on, it might prompt other guys to log on as well... Looking forward to MLB The Show 14, and Infamous Second Son in April.
  2. Nice intro Mark. Most of us are on PS4 but I tend to play both PS3 and PS4 equally. Hope to see you online... ODlN-5 is my PSN... the "i" is a lower case "L"
  3. I thought this was ok to post since it is on a public forum, but remember, he cant discuss anything on a forum or divulge details so im sure he will let us know what he legally can.
  4. SOF Studios publically posted the Alpha Testers for H-Hour today. If you look carefully, you might see a familiar face! Way to represent Balz...
  5. Hello Omni... ill be on ps3 and ps4. If you ever decide to join us, that's where we will be. Thanks for stopping by.
  6. Its things like this is why this game will succeed with the SOCOM community: Many fans and supporters requested they reduce the run speed in the pre-alpha build and it happened. How many games in development can say this? DavidTroySears ‏@DavidTroySears 6h Run speed lowered. Here's a grab from the .ini file. Thx for the comments! @SOFstudios pic.twitter.com/FuFNxGxnz4
  7. Its beginning to look a lot like SOCOM. http://youtu.be/HE1pERlH2ls
  8. I haven't spent enough time with it to make a final judgment, but it does have enough options to please everyone. From TDM, to Conquest (classic BF), and new modes like Obliteration (Think SOCOM's demolition) where there is a random bomb on the map as both teams fight to pick it up and plant at 3 random locations. Defuse is like Obliteration but its one lifer per round and 5v5. I think they have done a great job at taking on COD by adding all of the game modes to please the COD die hards and also please the BF diehards. I think this game offers a lot more variety of gameplay than COD does. My main beef with the game so far is the mics. Why in 2013 does it seem so hard to implement a good voicechat system. the PS4 party chat will be the way to go when we get 2+ mXm in a game to communicate. To answer your question Induced, I was not a fan of BF3 for 2 reasons: The maps were bland and the 30 FPS effected my aim. BF3 just didn't keep my interest. BF4 however addresses all of my past issues (except the mic). The maps are varied with many levels (high, mid, low points to please snipers to assault and shotgunners) This is a must buy if you are a PS4 owner. There is plenty to do here with enough variety to keep you coming back again and again. (also to note: As of 12/14 I have not seen any crashing or freezing in my gameplay. A little lag here and there but nothing to make me frustrated. Stability will only get better as DICE fixes the main issues hampering the game).
  9. Ill pop it in today and see how it goes as I've yet to play it.
  10. I haven't heard any chatter regarding BF4. With the broken mess that its been, I heard word of a patch that has "somewhat" fixed it. My copy is sitting on the shelf to be played. I refuse to touch it until I hear of the constant crashing and freezing stops. Any word from the mXm side on this? Just curious...
  11. Its the EXACT same interface as SOCOM2... take a look. It always showed the weapon, auto/burst fire and players... In keeping with authenticity, why would they change it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiE3XrVkVfk
  12. Check out the Desert Glory style map with the old socom style aiming recticle. Pretty sweet!
  13. I bet he is at the Library area... I remember using the Molotov cocktails effectively and getting into the middle to catch my breath. I was stuck there for a while too. I cant wait to see what they do with the series on the PS4, but first Uncharted 4 is coming!
  14. I picked up Killzone over the weekend and I am about an hour into the campaign. It feels good and I enjoy the storyline so far. I have already said how much I love the VITA version. If you guys ever pick up a VITA, grab Killzone Mercenary. I have yet to get into multiplayer as I want to finish the campaign to get a feel of the guns etc. I also highly recommend Need for Speed Rivals as its a total blast of arcade racing fun. Very pretty as well.
  15. I was an early adopter of the VITA and it has been a slow grind since its launch. Game support was lacking early. Remote play will open the floodgates. You can download Youtube, Netflix etc on it as well. The screen resolution for a handheld is impressive and the duel analog sticks feel good. The front and back touch screens are very responsive and also your PS Plus account also carries over to the VITA. I am anxious to see the 2nd screen function for games where the VITA becomes the map, or a loadout screen much like Battlelog for BF4 on the PC with PS4 etc.
  16. Ill play the single player on the VITA remote play but the slightest latency would frustrate me for an online shooter. What I have found is remote play is served best when you are in the same room as the PS4 while others are watching TV or if you want the football game on. I played Resogun in my bedroom remote play and it felt great. Im sure a few stability patches and Remote play will help move some VITA units. Very cool feature though!
  17. Here is some good BF4 footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Objaswg-Rw
  18. yeah, was supposed to be a launch title. Rather it delayed than rushed out... I think The Division is very similar and more "shooter" if you know what I mean. Tactical/military with similar functions as Watch Dogs. Still, plenty to play until then.
  19. First impressions from Gametrailers.com http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/uskg3p/need-for-speed-rivals-field-report I am picking this up day 1. I love the risk/reward system and the streamlined single player/online... genius!
  20. Damn... I am sure they will have similar door busters close to Black Friday. Amazon is having a Buy 2 Get One Free deal starting tomorrow.
  21. Its also about lifestyle... in that totally slanted and fanboy review he says COD is for casual gamers. I guess I fall into that category. As much as it kills me not to have the time I used to, I simply cant game for hours like I once did. Here is a link to a realistic, non biased review of COD Ghost that I agree with. Its spot on as this guy was a SOCOM player back in the day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gxbt4njBVk&feature=c4-overview&list=UUgpl7t70RreiZ662sJ7wrzg
  22. At the end of the day, all that matters is "is it fun for you" I think its the best online multiplayer in the series. I also feel the 2nd tier websites that give it a 5/10 are looking for traffic. You do know on metacritic, the way to get attention and separate yourselves from the 8/10 9/10 is to dog it so people read why they think its so bad. Its a cheap way to raise your traffic to sell more ads. Oldest trick in the book. So they copy and pasted a scene out of the single player. Who buys this game for single player anyway?!? BTW, who reserved the COD Ghosts mXm tag? If you guys arent going to play it, at least release it so those of us who do can set it up. weathermatt, myself, and whoever else can utilize it.
  23. Yes, I put it out there and said it. The multiplayer is the best in the series. Big maps, small maps, Run N gunners, Campers, Snipers, Knifers, and just plain assault/tactical play. Its all in these multiplayer maps. I have put about 7 hours in online and I can say without bias that these maps are fun, enjoyable, and feel more like COD4 than anything else. No longer do you get bombarded from the air every 5 seconds with multiple kill streaks. What a relief! A nice little touch to the team deathmatch is objectives within maps. For example, if you kill someone, they might randomly drop a briefcase with documents. When you capture the briefcase (kinda like Kill confirmed tags) it will give you a small objective like humiliate someone after killing them promoting teabagging! Or kill someone with a picked up weapon, or kill 2 people prone. It tries to make you mix up your playstyle which is refreshing. Also, I find a handful of these maps have such a SOCOM feel to them. Seige, Whiteout, and Stormfront I swear the level designers were huge SOCOM players. You can feel it. Anyway, I am enjoying the hell our of it and I am not a fanboy of any FPS, but I was pleasantly surprised how good this is... Infinity Ward finally stopped letting little brother (Treyarch) kick their ass. For those wating for ps4, no need. You can play on the PS3 version and roll your stats over to the PS4 if you keep your same account from ps3. These are just my initial impressions. I would love to hear what Weathermatt thinks as he has been playing since day 1 as well. See you all on the flipside! Odin~
  24. I remember working at GameCrazy back in the day and had a TON of those old MADCATS piece of shit controllers... lol
