[mXm] BOLD Edition
I was somewhat surprised to find no threads about anime on the forums; it is an acquired taste, one (like many of my eclectic interests), that has been curated since I was a youngblood. Is there anyone in the family who has embraced their anime/manga hustle?
[mXm] 404 Not Found
I am sorry, but I run from Anime! The ONLY video game I would ever play anime style was Valkyria Chronicles which they need to port to the VITA, but other than that, I cant get into the style of it because it reminds me of Japanese pedophilia... The way they portray young girls I find a bit disturbing. I guess its because of the industry I am in that I cant work with it. When I was a little kid, I would watch a show called KIMBA and also Speed Racer... that's about as ANIME as I got. O~
[mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
I tried getting in to it when I was in Japan, just for something to read, just couldn't. The pages were super busy, and like Odin said, the affinity towards underaged girls just threw me weird. Speed Racer and Voltron would be my exceptions. [mXm] BOLD Edition
All of that is fair; there is a large part of the industry that is geared towards exactly what you observed. As in all things, there are quite a few series in anime and the manga books that are solid storytelling narratives along the lines of comedy, drama, action-adventure, etc. I am watching one right now called Yowamushi Pedal (Yowapeda) that is all about high-school cycling teams. Really entertaining from a cycling perspective, since they have done a lot of research and potray alot of aspects of the sport accurately. It's been good, clean fun, which is great. Most of the other series I watch are along those good storytelling lines across different genres and periods. Hentai, which is the animated japanese porn, I stay far, far away from. I have never been into "tentacle sex" or any of the other amazingly deviant things they have come up with! If you are ever into checking out some of the series I've mentioned, I've got guest passes to hand out from Crunchyroll, which would allow you to view for 1-2 weeks for free I think.
