Mazda 3

Picked up the new car yesterday.
So far I'm quite pleased with it. We only test drove it for about 10 minutes before we both decided we liked it. Of course I didn't realize at the time there was no cruise control in the car, but honestly it's not a huge issue anymore. It's so easy to maintain constant speed with the pedal that cruise isn't needed.
Driven it maybe 150km or so (~100 miles) and love it. It's the most fun car I've driven. Stiff suspension gives it a sportier feel. Handling is real good, even at high speeds (100km/h - 60MPH).
This is the first new(ish) car I've owned and so far I'm real happy with it. Having a 7 year/160,000km (100,000 miles) warranty helps too.
Personally, I preferred the old Mazda 3 styling, but this one isn't too bad either.

Congrats mang! Its always a great day when you bring home a new ride! Get some more pics though! I wanna see the dash and the side and rear profiles. Ive seen those things cleanly pimped out and they look great! Any plans to "make it yours"?

No major plans to make it mine. I definitely want to get the windows tinted real dark, and maybe a cold air intake, but other than that, nothing. The hardest part is going to be convincing the wife. She doesn't like me messing around with things when she doesn't fully understand what it is or why I'm doing it.

Bah, women need not to know about things under the hood of the car, its all bad news for 9 out of 10 women. They start dumping oil where washer fluid is supposed to go and vise versa.

Cold air intake is a good start though! Get a little more pep out of it and better mpg! The cars ecu will automatically adjust for the better air flow. Chips are another option that is pretty stealth as far as install goes and fairly cheap. Add some serious pep. Use the MPG though to sell it to the woman.

I'm definitely aiming for the MPG increase argument to be the winner here. It's really why I'm doing it. The other benefits are just a bonus. I've found a couple cold air intakes for about $300 at JC Whitney. I really don't even know where to start looking for them.
Is there anywhere in the States that does that kind of thing that has an online catalog? I'm sure it would be much cheaper than in Canada, even with shipping costs.

Poor Canadians, this sir is the only air filter you will ever need. Literally.

Maybe this one? Its for the 2.3 and I dont know the specs of your particular car, but usually these cars look pretty similar under the hood. http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=69-6011TS Its for the 07 mazdaspeed 3. Also it might be time to get familiar with a fan site forums. Tons of free info.

Also you can do this on the super cheap with a little ingenuity and a Saturday. Find the intake for yoour car, and look at the charge pipe itself. look at the ports on it. Those are for your sensors that are right now plugged into the factory airbox. One you get that figured its just a matter of buying a little bit of the right diameter of pipe and a silicone elbow you can find at any decent auto parts store. Matching hose clamps, and than just a cheap cone filter. Figure out placement for your car than drill/tap/weld right size bolt in the pipe, insert sensors and voila, Andy19 Cold Air Intake bitches!

Or you can just buy the drop in K&N filter and a can of the cleaner. Better choice if still under warranty, and cheaper.
But it wont sound as cool or get as much hp gain. We can talk turbos later. 0.o
