I read about this but hadn't seen it. Its great that the map is so open that it takes 40+ minutes to drive across!

Yeah I agree, I love how big these open world maps are getting.

 

I'd love to see some gameplay with multiple people though, showing how it's supposed to be played.

The Crew has an open beta for PS+ subscribers right now until Thursday, Nov. 27th.

So I played The Crew beta for about an hour or so tonight, and my initial thoughts - don't waste your time.

It's terribly written, cars handle like shit, and just hasn't been enjoyable for any stretch of time so far.  I'll keep playing when I can and hope it gets better.

This review pretty much sums up everything I'm experiencing right now:

 

Online connectivity, another game that requires a connection to start the game, this may be changed by launch however now if the servers are down you can't play.

Graphics, As a few others have said the graphics promised so much but they just feel so... under whelming, the textures while they have put in a lot just have a late Ps3 feel to it.  Environment, Slightly touch a corner whole going around? have a unrealistic spin out which takes 5/10 seconds to recover from (see cars) on top of this going off road you pass through some trees and random bumps in the road makes the car like you are trying to steer with a piece of string.

Story, Boring and predictive, framed, get revenge with help from good cars, storyline of almost every car movie, the voice acting while it's not badly voiced they are crazy with the timing (I stopped the car for a couple of seconds to have a mouthful of coffee right after picking up a mission and the agent started saying what's taking so long.)  

Cars, I shall get this out there, the physics and the way the cars handle is one of the worst I have seen since Watch dogs (if not worse) on top of that going 200KMH feels only very slightly faster that doing 100, the customisation is quite detailed however flawed as some stat changes makes no sense (a level 7 engine upgrade gives more grip? what!)  

Overall if I was giving it a score based on what I have seen from the beta I would give it a 5, the open world is really a breath of fresh air however the flaws shoot it down so much

I remember playing this at PAX and thinking, "this is very muddy, i.e. sluggish". The controls really leave much to be desired and in general it didn't feel accelerated in any way. Personally I will be passing on this as well.
