I am going to Vegas, to PLAY VIDEO GAMES!

BOLD Edition

Recommended Posts

In November I'm flying to Vegas to connect with one of my good friends from high school. Our mission, because we are too old not to accept it, is to fly there and hit the best arcade and pinball exhibitions in town. Most of these machines still require quarters, if not human blood. I have no doubt we will be up to no good.

Has anyone been to the arcade and pinball houses in Vegas? If so, what are your hot spots? If you haven't been there but remember your favorite arcade and/or pinball game, shout it out here so I can play it. I am already looking forward to the "Funhouse" pinball game and "Robotron", "Tempest" and "720" arcade games.

I may come back with an mXm tattoo as well, because, I live for the funk and die for the funk.

Bold, definitely go to the Pinball Museum. It's on Tropicana. I go to Vegas a lot and almost always make a trip there. Can easily spend a couple hours there and not get bored. Addams Family has always been my favorite Pinball game. I really like Mars attacks also.

Ohhh, I remember the Addams family pinball game; that was fun. The pinball museum is definitely on our list as well as "Insert Coin", which is a videogame influenced nightclub with some nostalgic games on the floor.

BOLD and Matty, and everyone for that matter! Download the Pinball Arcade on PS4! (I already had them on PS3 and on my VITA) All of those authentic Pinball games are on there! Funhouse, MArs Attacks, Pinbot on down the line! I also love TAXI and Terminator machines, as well as Star Trek. I am already on there so get to downloading so we can post high scores! I also own all of Zen Pinball 2 tables. Glad to hear other Pinball lovers are in this clan. I thought I was alone.

I do love a good pinball game; I think I am more for the nostalgia of the physical table, but can appreciate having access to them virtually. Some of the best parts of pinball for me were the physical aspects, like the gun trigger on Terminator and Star Trek: TNG. When they added digital secondary screens; that was also bananas.

What an amazing trip; I loved betting on the electromagnetic horses in Sigma Derby. The nightclub "Insert Coins" was great; great drinks + mixers, two large tv's, and consoles, arcades, plus two waitresses and a game runner at our disposal. Also, battling my arch nemesis, Rudy, in "Funhouse" the pinball game, at the Pinball Museum. Overall, a really good time. Even managed to sleep 7 hours each day while I was gone. That's twice as much as I normally get on any given day...

Hmm, I did take a couple of photographs inside the museum. Mainly of the Funhouse pinball machine since I was doing battle with it half the night. Will try to dig those out later.

Chad, I don't have pinball arcade on the PS4; I'm pretty visceral and nostalgic about those machines and prefer the physical connection to the game.

Balz, how many of you are playing CoD? I played a bit this past weekend at the hotel in Vegas; it looks like a good CoD game, but I have been fine to pass on it so far. GTA V drops next week and I am still playing Destiny :) Have you all been putting the band back together inside CoD recently, though?

I am enjoying it very much... when playing Hardcore Search and Destory with communication, it feels very much like the old days of SOCOM where teamwork wins out over runnin and gunnin.... If we can get 2-3 more on board we can do some major damage...

BOLD, I hear you on the physical pinball, but damn, The Pinball Arcade is as close as you are going to get to the real thing. They actually scanned the games from the Pinball Museum. Read up on the company that makes these. It would be ashame for you not to try it out... you can download the core game for free and add pinball machines to your liking...
