You Never Leave a Game Behind

Nice little article/opinion piece explaining why a SOCOM revival would be great right now.

The strategy and intelligence that was required by members of a clan during a SOCOM match was deeper than what you'd find in most of todays online shooters. Everyone is so quick to pull the trigger carelessly - giving away their position like fools - regardless if it's a low percentage shot. Communicating with your team via headset to coordinate ambushes, waiting for the opposing team to make that one grave mistake that your team could capitalize was a staple of SOCOM's gameplay, and it's one that's gotten lost in the shuffle over the years.

There seems to be a large community of SOCOM vets that are pushing to get this game back, to get that old SOCOM feeling back.

I know we all would love that as well.

This is the best article I have read regarding a SOCOM revival. H-Hour is going to do that, but I wish SONY would wake up and just fund SOF studios and bring it back in-house and call it SOCOM: Rebirth or something like that. H-Hour is cool, but to have the SOCOM banner flying over that game with David Sears at the helm would make way too much sense! and could make $$$$$$$$

I feel H-Hour will make bank if not completely with its first title it might by a second title (seeing how there are some skeptics out there and some of the older generation that gamed in the past have put down their controllers to live real life .. )

It is going to have to appeal to a new generation .. the 20,30 ,and 40 year old's that made socom what it was are now 30,40,50 and if not even 60 by now .

Time will tell how this all plays out ... but I know personally I don't have the time to play like I did 10 years ago and setting time for clan battles if probably a no go for me anymore .
