[mXm] kotaco
There was once a time when AIM was a huge portion of the clan's communications structure. Time has changed and Facebook has made things easier for most of us, however I personally still enjoy IMs as an easy way to keep in touch, and heck it's one of my primary methods of discussing things with Balz. How about you? Does anybody else have any particular IM application they prefer? What are your screennames if so?AIM: mXm kotacoSkype: mXmkotaco
Induced_Horizon
IM was big till TXT messaging took its place for the most part .... I remember using my IM's on my phone instead of taking the chance of going over on my txt messages (before there was unlimited txt options ... ) The only downfall my old clan had with IM was not to many where by their computer . I opt for AIM or Skype mobile apps on my phone more than text messaging for clan related things, always have. Texting was around in 2003, granted the phones were using T9 back then, but even then it wasn't huge for us.I did do a lot of conference calls when we had a guy named decoy in the clan lol. (Balz will appreciate that) Edited December 14, 2014 by kotaco
[mXm] andy19
I haven't used an IM client in a long time. Used to be on all the time but it seemed like nobody was online anymore so it just faded away.
[mXm] BOLD Edition
I basically tell people to text me. I can't be bothered most of the time to maintain multiple chat clients. I use Google Hangout, which allows me to send SMS, MMS, and jabber messages to anyone who uses what used to be called Google Talk.

[mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
Ive had my AIM SN for so long its just part of my online life. Its tethered to my phone so I will get a text message if the app is closed.AIM: NadsOnYer4HeadI just use the app for it now so I do not have to be near to a computer which makes it easier to use and access. I also have facebook messenger, but I swear I am but a heartbeat from closing my Facebook account just because it annoys me anymore and its so full of click hunter crap. [mXm] 404 Not Found
Which makes sense since Facebook owns instagram. I use Trillian which houses all IM capabilities since my work requires I have different channels to reach mediabuyers. I use the following:AIM: ChadrockCMASkype: Chadrock15yahoo: Chadrock5ICQ: 616401749Google Chat: Chadrock15 I am online all day everyday and can easily be reached on these IMs. Edited December 30, 2014 by ODIN

[mXm] 404 Not Found
ICQ is used mainly in my industry because its not flooded and commercialized like the rest.
[mXm] FlyersFan
I don't think I have used a instant messenger service in the last 10 years. With text messaging, skype, FaceTime, and email, who needs a messenger? Chad said it is required for his job; in my opinion that is strange. Im honestly surprised that they are still available. [mXm] kotaco
Instant Messengers never went away, they just evolved. Facebook Messenger may arguably be the single most popular at the moment. SnapChat and Kik are two other very popular ones. Skype can also be considered an instant messenger when not using the video conferencing. WhatsApp is another one with 350 million active users, but I've never used that one. Kind of a cool infographic:
[mXm] 404 Not Found
Chad said it is required for his job; in my opinion that is strange. Its not "required" but its a preferred method of chat worldwide since that's what mediabuyers used in the beginning. When you are online through Trillian, it pulls all of the Instant Messengers into one organized interface and makes it easier to be contacted. Internet ad sales uses chat messengers almost exclusively and then jumps on SKYPE for calls. I don't think I have picked a phone up for work in years as I do it all from my computer. I have a softphone on my computer (RING CENTRAL) for phone calls if I have to jump on a call for teleconferences. Induced_Horizon
Wont let me post without all these quotes so I erased all the quotes that didn't apply That is understandable Kotaco , Guess it just comes down to the fact that FB is just not where I want to be with social networking .. I would rather socialize here or other forums .... Forums to me are a lot better then the BLOG style social networks like FB ...Content is organised via the forums , not just complete randomness .
