[mXm] kotaco
After a solid 8 years, it's finally starting to overheat and give me the blinking red light symptom. Figures, I just downloaded a couple PS3 games that were heavily discounted for the 20th anniversary sale. Will try the thermal paste replacement and a good cleaning to get it a few more months/years, but thankfully we have PS4 now
[mXm] andy19
Don't you have a PS4?
[mXm] kotaco
Sure, but I still use my PS3 too
[mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
Thats a bummer. I would try taking it apart, at lease the case, and see if you can't clean it up some with some compressed air.
[mXm] 404 Not Found
I play my PS3 just as much as my PS4. There are still a lot of games I need to finish and is great to have as a Blueray player/Netflix for the bedroom. Kotaco, there are tons of how tos on youtube. I took a blowdryer to my 2nd ps3 and it gave me about another 3-4 months more life, but ultimately like you said, its days are numbered. The PS3 is a great system and the first one I never traded in because I still find great value in owning both the 3 and 4... Best of luck milking that Ps3 to the last drop. They are cheap enough now to replace for 100.

If it dies it will definitely be replaced with another 3 so I can finish up some LA Noir and try Red Dead for the first time.
[mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
OH man. Red Dead was a fantastic game. A little predictable at the end, but otherwise fantastic. I didn't think I would like it because it was back in the old west. Now I cant wait for a new one.
[mXm] 404 Not Found
As a GTA fan like yourself, you are in for a treat with Red Dead. I prefer it over GTA because I love the wild west theme. Great game! I am going through the Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy on my PS3 at the moment and playing alongside Assassin's Creed Unity on PS4. Never played LA NOIR. I thought the premise was cool though. Let us know what you think of that game.
[mXm] kotaco
They were both really cheap during the 20th sale. I think I got both plus some other titles for 20 bucks.
