[mXm] kotaco
I'd like to get into this one day, looks fun for any PC gamers out there, but definitely a steep learning curve.
[mXm] BOLD Edition
That was pretty cool. Lots of communication has to go into that gameplay. Love dragging the teammates to the extraction.
[mXm] kotaco
All of this clans videos are pretty much awesome. Super long, but the communication and coordination is cool Edited April 4, 2015 by kotaco
[mXm] kotaco
Gah, just seems to awesome. My goal is to pick up this and GTA V (for the mods!) for PC once I get my new tower. (Who knows when that'll be though.) Edited April 5, 2015 by kotaco
[mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
That does look like a lot of fun. I hate KB and mouse, but do have a flight stick I picked up for Kerbal... I will definitely need a better office chair....
[mXm] BOLD Edition
Here is a realism Arma III scenario a friend just shared with me (not sure if he participated in it or not, but it gives you a good idea of the gameplay mechanics in action). This actually wants to make me buy a PC to play this game. Something I may consider this summer. Edited April 6, 2015 by BOLD Edition andy19
[mXm] BOLD Edition
I've started spec'ing out a machine for a potential buy in early July for this game. Incidentally, this really seems like the game we should be focusing on as a clan. I know its not console, though. [mXm] andy19
Definitely looks like an awesome game. Just checked it out on System Requirements Lab and looks like I can play it with my existing PC at minimum settings (but where's the fun in that?) [mXm] kotaco
I've been reading up on it, team play is where the fun is at, but you can lone wolf as well. There is also a ton of expansions/mods for this like the DayZ mod which seem fun. I put off my next desktop purchase for a bit, but when I do finally get one, Im definitely getting it to mess around on when console nights are slow. I really like the idea of a game that lasts years rather than until the next shiny one comes out. BOLD Edition
Induced_Horizon
This would work on the STEAM machine correct???I have thought about getting one of those to play this game ....
[mXm] andy19
I would imagine so, it being a Steam game.
[mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
Every video I watch I think ahh I wont get through this, and then 26 minutes later...Says I can run this but should upgrade my processor, which means I have to upgrade the mobo....grrr pc gaming... [mXm] andy19
I'm in the same boat. Decent GPU, but bad CPU and old mobomobo, so I'd need to update. Then I'd want faster RAM, then a better GPU. Although I can do a decent upgrade for ~$400 CDN (about 250 US nowadays) its not worth it for 1 game.
[mXm] kotaco
Yeah, like I said, this is a down the road game for me for that reason. Can't justify the new PC just for this, so I'm waiting until I can just justify the new PC in general and get this too I got other obligations to take care of first though, including the second half of the website design payment

[mXm] andy19
I don't know what you guys are saying, but I think I need to get a better CPU and video card. BalzOnYer4Head and BOLD Edition
[mXm] kotaco
ok. So at first I thought this was going to be a solo adventure, but with all this interest I rearranged some things to secure a new desktop to get our ARMA on. Cant wait to try and figure out this game with you guys. BOLD Edition
[mXm] BOLD Edition
Man, I can't stop watching the videos from these realism units. I hope we can recreate something like that on a much smaller scale.
[mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
The processor seems to be holding up just fine and I am running on the graphical setting of "high" and its nice and smooth. I haven't played online yet but have been working through the Campaign. I gotta say that I am really in to this. It is tactical, realistic, and extremely immersive. It is definitely not anything like a console shooter.Running around and trying to be Lone Wolf will get you cut to shreds in an instant. You need to work with your team to gain a better position to direct fire on to the enemy. If you're sprinting and then try to aim and shoot you wont hit a damn thing. One of the first things they teach you in combat training is the importance of cover and concealment, IN THAT ORDER. This game represents it well. The first thing in marksmanship they teach you is the importance of a stable shooting position, this game does that very well too. Reticle sway is very reminiscent of S2, as if SOCOM would of been continuously developed by David Sears himself, this is what it would of achieved. It took me a better part of a week to get the Dual Shock set up the way I like it, and it did require a third party bit of software. Also a profile from a guy that plays this game like its his job, for said 3rd party software. I used it as a base, and then changed some of the mapping around to suit my playing style. Just night before last I also plugged in my flight stick I bought for Kerbal, and setup on that was a snap. Now I just need practice. At this point I could get us to the LZ, buuuut would probably kill us all trying to land. Edited April 19, 2015 by BalzOnYer4Head
[mXm] andy19
What are you pc specs?I've read so many different minimum specs, but most were from when it was in beta. Wondering if I'll actually have to get a better PC.

[mXm] andy19
Mine are just slightly under yours, minus the 20gb of ram. I should be able to pay on low/medium then.
