[mXm] kotaco
It does take some time to get used to. I still get hung up on some controls after 20+ hours.I suggest going to the NATO missions that I mentioned in another thread. It's only you and the open world with your weapons and all the vehicles at your disposal to get used to.The single player campaign is setup in a way that it walks you through controls and such as well. [mXm] andy19
Yeah I find the single player does a good job of walking through the main controls. Induced_Horizon
[mXm] kotaco
If that is true, then that would be nice. It is one of the things I was looking forward to when I first reached out to mXm.The "welcome letter" actually was an appreciation letter that was sent out at one point to current members during our SOCOM Confrontation days. That was a one time deal. (We do like to do similar things from time to time for our membership though)The patches, those are typically sent out 1 per member after 1 full year of enlistment. Which I believe you should now be eligible for. Balz has the bulk of the patches. I have a few spares too. Eitherway, we should be able to get one to you. Watching some videos and doing some reading got me thinking about transplanting my Intel i7 Dell XPS 8700 SE to a new case with a new MOBO and adding some upgrades. List redacted due to changes. See my next post for updates Further down the road if I upgrade the CPU all I'd need is another MOBO and DDR4 memory. For now my CPU does fine though. [mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
Ive always wanted to do water cooling, but there is just something about water near my computer that completely freaks me out. I know its sealed and nearly impossible, but... Upgrades: MOBO to GigaByte Ultra Durable GA-970A-DS3P CPU to AMD FX 4.0Ghz 8350 EightCore Monitor 24 In Samsung S24C450 (Thanks Danger!) Had: 20GB RAM Radeon R9 Sapphire 270X Corsair HX850 Footnote: No longer in a milk crate. New mobo required more suitable accommodations. Generic ATX case I had sittin around in my room of PC parts. [mXm] kotaco
So I pulled the trigger on phase 1 because having it all sitting there in my cart mocking me was too much. This is the case I ended up getting: Nice and clean, and has the option to add increase airflow if needed with a 15-20 dollar front panel kit. All the components should arrive Wednesday. I'll be harvesting the CPU, HDD and Optical Drives from my Dell for it, but otherwise this is my first dabble into a custom build.
[mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
Love that case. Menacing. If you need any help putting it all together don't hesitate to reach out. But PC building nowadays is easier than ever. No jumpers to worry about, its all pretty much plug and play.
[mXm] andy19
So I just pulled the trigger on a CPU upgrade. I bought an Intel i5-4690, $30 off from Newegg with an additional $35 off with a promo code, so ended up getting it for $300 CAD after taxes and shipping. The CPU price alone was ~195 USD. Total ~225 USD. Still need to get the motherboard, but I'll probably get one from a store close to my work this week. Here's the upgrade comparison. [mXm] BalzOnYer4Head
Nice! Now youre just a mobo away from running on "ultra". kotaco
[mXm] andy19
I run on a slightly modified Ultra setting now. It puts more processing on the GPU which is my strong point right now. I'll be cranking it all the way up to Ultra with the new setup. I also picked up the motherboard today. $115 CDN - $25 MIR which is a decent deal from what I've seen online.
