Thinking about H Hour ..

I know I probably shouldn't .. but I have really been thinking about trying H-Hour ... it is $25 in early access ... I have owned every socom title and still have them all to this day ... I understand it is not a true socom at this point . but $25 is not that bad of a price to test things out .

Anyone else going to give it a go here ?

I know ArmA has a lot of potential but All the clans I have investigated are some really hardcore gamer's  . With PC clans .. hell they roll with really big groups of people and advertising Dedication and required training so on and so forth ... I really like ArmA but no to the extent that all those clans advertise ..

I know mXm is not that hardcore at this point but probably was in the past ... i was just thinking the future of arma and the community base behind it ...  community is what makes or breaks a multi player game for me in some sense .... was just thinking h hour might encourage litecore gaming clans like in socom ...

no that is not the only reason to get h hour ... but my curiosity is almost getting the best of me here ...  was just wondering who all here is going to give it a go ...

You can do whatever you like, but as someone who has been close to this project for a long time, no. Just no. This game is garbage. After David Sears left, the "lead design" title was given to a guy named Kevin, from Staples. Seriously.

I played the beta and it is crap. Sounds are flat, graphics borderline last gen, and management is just hoping to recoup some of their investment. This game will never see a console, and will probably not make it out of EA. I so want to be wrong on this, but I just know too much, and the beta spoke for itself.

Don't waste your money.

Also, why the hell aren't you a clan member yet?

Also, also, its always mXm. No other variation with the case.;)

Copy that ... Never seen you post your true feeling for the game till now knowing you had more insight then any of us here ...

Also Fixed the mXm tag in that other post ... Sorry

To answer the question why have I not tried to join .. Where there again Balz . you have more insight then anyone here on my project because you have visited and somewhat tested one of my projects ... Though my project American Domination  is probably not going to happen because it takes a socom style game to work  . The Forum system I built is mainly what I don't want to give up on . I still want to build a place where small clans have a place to go other then Social media to run their clans with 1 shared public forum and Clans can make their own private forums ... Though this project of mine may never see the light of day , doesn't stop me from wanting to bring some kind of community to other like minded gamers ...

I dig that you are passionate about that project. Do not understand how that would stop ya from wearing our tag. You've hung around with us for some time now, you've gamed with us, and have been sometimes more active than any of us on the forums. I am not going to twist your arm, but if you would officially like to be part of the clan, the tags are there.

And just to bust Bold's balls (cause we love him)  I would send ya out a few patches right away. :P

Honestly I though about putting an app in last year some time .. but considering the lack of PS4 games to play that actually interest me are far and few in between . have been regretting getting the PS4 in some ways especially now that I have a PC ... though I am still looking forward to No Mans Sky for the PS4 . Something about astrological Exploration really enthused me .. The Division is another I am planning for ...

Now with having a PC and having people to roll with on ArmA , I can see the plus side to being in a clan .

The down side of me having my Project and actually joining a clan is that from my experience a lot of clans frown upon extra projects that work with other clans ...  along with some things I like to build as other side projects ....

Ha! Been through that before....

Making your name Pink now

Anyhow, I'd love to see mXm get to how it used to be rolling with tons of members online, forums always hopping, etc. But even back then, when we could easily compete with other "hardcore" clans, we always maintained the attitude that this is for fun. We had competitive rosters, but it wasn't a requirement, in the end it was about having a good time with each other. If you wanted to roll with another clan, go ahead. We preferred not to have dual enrollment, but we had no issues with friends hanging with friends. Formed some awesome "alliances" that way.

I think that was a big draw for people, the benefits and opportunities of a hardcore clan, with the low stress care free fun of a casual clan. There was drama sure, but it was good times.

Ahhh the memories.

I am going to take the weekend to re evaluate my project and its total worth to me because honestly if I cant get some of my old friends off of facebook to use the forum system then what it the probability of getting others to use it ... kind of slim to none . Now with PC gaming , most of them based on my experience are mainly smart enough to setup their own networking systems so there again my project has no use or benefit to anyone but me . I could right it off as a learning experience which I have done so many other times in the past with smaller projects . This project was not a small task though . it was a group of small and big projects compiled in to one . Actually building a functioning forum system was not a small task by any means but it was something I wanted to try .Then allow other clans build their own private forums aside from the public forums that where visible to all clans . Building the Chat box and Signature generator took time as well .

There is a lot more to my project then what Balz came to Pre-Alpha test for me with The American Domination Game board ...  Most of my project is still in Alpha testing and was anticipating having it ready for when H-Hour comes along and starts bringing back clans and clan activity .  It is not looking like that is going to happen .

So .. again .. I will evaluate my project worth to me over the weekend and if I even want to continue with it or use it for something else . will go from there

I can't tell you how many projects I've had that came and went.  I had a social motorcycle route sharing site, a beer tracking app (then found out about Untappd), a fantasy hockey advanced stats application...it goes on and on.  I'm a programmer, not a marketer, so they all eventually went stale and became useless.

They're great to do, keep your mind busy, and like you said, a great learning experience.

I can understand Not being a Marketer .... I personally am not a very social guy .... I tried to get my project out to my friends to see if they could help in the process of marketing but that failed just as well ...

Personally I am not a Programer by any means . I am a carpenter that use to build houses and now build shuffleboards . I just got in to website work by necessity . Basically the old clan I was in , the leader just quit gaming and shut the site down so that left a clan with nowhere to go . One of my friends from that clan had the know how to do but no money so I got the site and he walked me through setting up a phpbb2 forum .... next thing you know (about $300 worth of books later) I know what I know now . So truly I know I could learn a lot from you over time .

But anyhow , that is why I believe I am holding on to this project longer then I probably should because I impressed myself with what I have done  . Just hard to Let Go
