Omni-Tek/TDC Merges & More

You know I'm obsessed with documenting the history of the clan the best I can, I often spend lots of time going back over the forum posts of Playstation.com dated around 2004-2005 to get lots of good stuff since we used that all the time. Found some good ones.

The annoucement of the merger with [TDC] The Devils Cartel. (For those newbies TDC was founded by one of our original members, $N00P [Also known as T-LOC & Vendetta] who created our first website and often recorded our gameplay on SOCOM 2, he went on to become a forum mod at Playstation.com and is now out of the gaming circut)

As of September 11 2004, [mXm] had 2 1/2 rosters on SOCOM II: US Navy SEALs, I don't remember how many people per roster, I'll be looking for that. Back in the day [mXm] also was active on the original GameBattles.com and Urgent Fury tournaments before they were bought out by big companies, in the first run [mXm] was undefeated 11-0 on the SOCOM 2 gaming ladder, after a stat reset we stopped aggressively warring and the score slipped until we decided to officially put off warring until a later date, we still don't particpate in clan wars to this day, but who knows, perhaps in the future we'll start up a competition team again if the numbers and interest allow.

mXm announces a merger
Posted by JUGGY - Jul 9, 2004

^TDC^ The Devilz Cartel has joined mXm. ^TDC^ is T-LOC's clan. We are very happy at the signing of these people. And clan mXm will restart their climb up game battles. We are currently 1-7 But I guarentee with the new signings that we have made this week that we will be .500 very soon.

Note: I'm not sure what the 1-7 JUGGY is reffering to is about, my research indicates that around this time mXm was undefeated around the number of 8-0 on Gamebattles give or take a few wins.

Players from ^TDC^

$N00P
Adidas-X
^GOHAN^
^LESTAT^
^KILLA2^
S M O K E D
^She Devil^
X~CON
AVARA

Welcome to the mXm family.

*** Fun fact: AVARA worked and still works for Lithium, the company who runs the Playstation.com forums and is the administrator of the SOCOM.com forums ***

A Reference To The Omni-Tek [.:.] Merge
Posted By Balz - May 12th 2004

XO of mXm here. Lemme just welcome all the new members to mXm. We arent the greatest (right 9mk?) but we do put up one hell of a fight (right 30+)
Rylox and crew, I will be sending the official invites in about 15 minutes. It is important that you get as many people on the first roster on your friends list as possible. This way no one is ever wondering where everyone else is at.
I will be away from SOCOM but not the boards for a week. I am leaving for a business trip to Bum fuhq, Kentucky, and the probability of highspeed internet in the hotel....well lets just say thier wont be.
I had a great time last night with all that played, and had some fun giving "tello" some first hand expeirience, on the P_K/mXm way.

DG is our map, once we werent severly outnumbered, we performed as usual.

** Fun fact: This was the clan Andy19 and a former member named Sooners belonged to before mXm, we knew each otehr from the graphic design forums of the time, they got me [kotaco] an invite to join Omni-Tek literally the day before the merger, it was by pure chance that I happened to get grandfathered into mXm! Crazy eh? **

Howdy mXm (and .:. and SSU),
Just wanted to say [30+] had a blast literally.....playing with all of you yesterday. I rather enjoyed myself, despite playing like crud. Nice combeack on DG! By the time we discovered we didn't outnumber you anymore, it was 3-3 and we hadn't been organizing ourselves... Heeheehee. Nice MVP, Kandi! 9-3, was it?

My favourite moment (aside from being killed by Balz in the tent on BloodLake with a surgical frag) was when I was the last guy on Vigilance against 4 of you... I thought I had a reasonably good hiding spot...until I sneezed, and accidentally fired one bullet.... then I was surrounded!

Good times, good times! Must do it again!

A Classic Post (I know I've posted this one before)

Hey this message is to the MXM clan………….thank you………… let me explain……… Yesterday was just a horrible day, work problems, GF problems, family problems etc, etc…. So I fired up the old PS2 and looked at the friends list and found ol Ryno. At first I wasn’t sure if I would be welcome in their clan room, but I entered anyway, the room was DG and I joined three rounds late, (sorry for taking the MVP)
I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! MXM is full of funny, cool people!! Some pretty good players as well!! THANK YOU MXM FOR SHOWING ME HOW FUN SOCOM CAN BE AND JUST MAKING MY DAY!

P.S: Mad props to the MXM girls, they can really tear it up!!
Again……………thanks, I hope I can join you again really soon……….. like tonight! lol

**Fun Observation: In the 8 years we've been a clan, people would always get our clan tag wrong! We've seen MXM, MxM and every other variation in posts about us, you'd think it wouldn't be that hard to forget right?**

I also found about 7 clan war results, all of which mXm took the victory, again according to a post by our former leader JUGGY, during this winning phase mXm made it up to at least 11 wins to 0 losses. We had a kick-ass competitive roster.

mXm vs Zen - Sep 5 2004
mXm vs SiK - Sep 29 2004
mXm vs TWC - Oct 3 2004
mXm vs DFS - Oct 6 2004
mXm vs HPS - Oct 16 2004
mXm vs MDK - Oct 24 2004
mXm vs S#A - Nov 3 2004

And the final peice of history for the day; Are you familiar with the Sea Snipers? A clan made famous by their work authoring and illustrating strategy guides for SOCOM, Call Of Duty and other big name titles, their icon is available as an unlock in Black Ops and other CoD games and their listed in the credits. They frequent E3 and often are featured at GameStop midnight releases, many clans envy them. Well 3 former mXmbers have gone on to become a part of their elite group. http://seasnipers.net/

Before their rise to fame, mXm and SS gamed together quite often on S2 and many friendships were made.

That's right, the following members have gone on to become a Sea Sniper:
[mXm] Juggy - ([SS] Blitz.) - Retired
[mXm] TeufulHunden - ([SS] TeufulHunden) - Retired
[mXm] Sabotage - ([SS] Sabotage) - Active

In a recent interview with former mXm / current SS Sabotage he gives us a shout out:

"1. How did you find the [SS] and what made you want to join? I met the Sea Snipers in 2003 through a friend named Socom Unit 1 aka Dakota of the mXm clan. Playing with the guys every chance I got gave me a chance to get to know each individual active member throughout the years. While many have come and gone I’ve gotten to know a lot of Sea Snipers and have not disliked a single one when I was then asked to put in an application to join recruitment."

The SS don't take many, and those they do go through a pretty intense hazing period, so naturally our mXmbers would be a good fit.

**Fun fact: friend of mXm, [SS] Datguy (now retired from SS) was a game designer with Slant Six and did work on the DLC for SOCOM: Confrontation and Mod Nation Racers**

That was a great read and blast from the past! We did have some amazing fun back then. I see NNK peeps on all the time, dunno if the clan is still functioning, as a clan. Datguy will hit me up on AIM from time to time as well.

We did rule Desert Glory back in the day. I can still picture every detail of that map in my head to this day, to include the fat hostage.

I just played the Ghost Recon beta and guys it seriously is the closest thing to socom out there. It plays almost identical to Socom Confrontation, and for a BETA it is pretty smooth with a bid of slowdown and framerate drop etc. for a beta im not worried about that too much but it looks to run 60fps for the most part. Graphically it looks like SOCOM:Confrontation with BF3 weapon system.

I am very much onto this game as it should feel VERY familiar to SOCOM vets.

O~

Hahhaahaa I know she posted that a year ago Amanda, but Fuck You! Bwahahahahaha

Its funny, cause its true. Sheesh those rules were pretty tough! I literally lulzd at the the word "punishment".

Five nights a week!!!

Those rules were pretty demanding. I bet the new rule list would be like...

1. Sign on once a year
2. See 1.
