Yes... I've crossed into nerdy territory number 1.. lol

After getting myself and my lady friend hooked on some Star Trek TNG I remembered Balz saying something about Star Trek Online. Downloaded it and started playing it today, really not bad for a free to play, although as expected all the good stuff requires you to fork over some money, but that's alright.

Anyhow, Balz specifically as I doubt anybody else would play it.. You still on this thing? I think I remember you hopping between this and the Matrix.

I havent played in a long time. I played it from Beta and launch, for about 6 months. The way the ranking system worked back then I maxed out rank in no time. I bet I could reactivate my account. I do currently have my pc connected to a tv, I think I would want to change it to a desk setup. I hope all my ships are there. I have a Galaxy and Sovereign class. As well as the Constitution Class Enterprise styled ship from TOS. I also have a Miranda and Stargazer class that I started with in the lower ranks.

So what do you think of the Trek "universe" now that you have seen some shows and played the game?

I find the game to be very impressive in size and features for a free one. I see they try and get you to put money into it by making all the cool toys cost "Zen" which you have to actually pay for. But all the same it appears possible to progress without them.

I'm only an Lt 7 at the moment and only have the ship they start you off with.

I haven't seen much of any of the original series, but the tie ins from DS9 and TNG are pretty cool, still learning my way around and getting an idea of how everything works.
