[SSU] - SOCOM Swat Unit

This was a little clan we knew / played with from time to time in the SOCOM II days, led by Mr. Shibbs, they would go on to suffer some infighting and collapse, but we had quite a few of their members within mXm at some point or another.

Here's a little history of SSU (or =SSU= as they liked to spell it) from the perspective of Shibbs:

So what's a topic I should discuss, SSU? sure why not. It all began as -WCP- West Coast Playaz even though we were spread out throughout the US, and when i say "we" i mean them. See, I never was actually, "IN" -WCP- I just hung around them a lot, and become they're little flag boy(this was in the fall of 03, and me being 14) but even so, took part in all of the activities even substituted sometimes in clan wars. So about in February i took my leave from gaming for about 3 months, and returned in May to find out -WCP- in main, defected to Final Fantasy 11 which had been released around February with the HDD for the PS2, so sparingly i went back to socom and to US West 5 to see if there were any remaining members, no dice. So i decided to join a room with senseless violence named, SSU Free4all, played a while, they turned out to be pretty cool, and then one speaks up,"Shibbs?" I was like "yeah?"(thinking nothing of it) "Are you shibbs that use to play with WCP?"(then my eyes jolted)"yeah..." "It's me Chris from WCP" "YEAH!?" lol, needless to say, I was happy I had found out that some of the players from WCP were still around in the form of Socom Swat Unit, which had two members remaining, SKOAL and GUNRUNNER6. So I met up with Skoal and Gunrunner and we chatted a bit about -WCP- and then Skoal asked me if I wanted to join SSU, I was like, "I can actually join this time?, I'M IN!" So began the amazing journey of =SSU= we recruited many colorful faces such of the likes of Strider24(Ray Romero, a foul mouthed azn boi), Smokey(A at the time, young black child, but who has now been revealed to be azn as well lol), US_NAVY_SEAL (Who we thought to be black as well, but when I asked him, he said he was white lol), Jaime(I forget his online handle, but a cool guy), Sandman69(a, still to this date, ominous fellow who lives somewhere in NY), and many other people. Along for the ride was Skoal's brother Justin, who I had many quarrel's with, along with SNOOP~A~LOOP a young white boi who would act his age. We had many Neighboring clans such as ~O~mega, mXm,Jrp,HNIC, and many others. US West 5 was a happenin' place for the time we ran things, many Free4all's were had and clan wars as well, then a month later,one night during a clan war, on Enowapi, it all fell through. S~A~L was messing around and "shooting birds" when we were suppose to be playing seriously, many myself included were angered, and I got in a fight with him and Justin, and set into the events of the Downfall of =SSU=... So yes, a big fight occurred. At this time in my life I was at that Rebellious stage of teen, so I acted like I owned the clan. Which spouted this disaster. We had a meeting to talk about the fight and the war, and the consensus kind of ganged up on lil' Snoop~A~Loop, so hurt, he left the clan. Which opted .45 to leave, as well as Justin to delete the 2nd roster. When this happened others left for some of our neighboring clans, then Skoal stepped in and got everyone who was left and put them on the First roster. It was only a matter of time before more people left to those other clans, and when there were only a few of us left, =SSU= shut down. Now, lol, that wasn't the end of =SSU= truth be told, there were many failed attempts and recreations made to uphold us who still wanted to play with each other (DMW/TLR/ESP/KO/F@M) but each died after another. Some of us logged on and played Resistance : Fall of Man when it came out, and even more came on when RS:Vegas was released and we made =TSU= Tactical Swat Unit (since we weren't playing Socom anymore). It seemed all was back and renewed, but people started signing on less often, and ultimately not showing up. and =TSU= died. Today a small group of us still talk to one another, Moses/Smoke/Gunner/ and myself, were still in contact with Ray/Ashley/ and Sandman, but not as often.


It appears Shibbs attempted a little return to Confrontation but it didn't go over well in the long run.

This is just a minor thing that stood out to me posted by Shibbs talking about upgrading the SSU forums. I always smile when people use our site as an example. (Posted in 2009 when they were trying to reboot for Confrontation)
So I was searching the net for boards incase we decided to upgrade. And jesus Has anyone seen the IP Board 3.0!? (btw were on 1.3) mXm has it, it's fuckin awesome! I just signed up for the 8 hour demo to check it out, but yeah, think if we decide to upgrade, this may be the board for us.
