New Toy!

So my wife surprised me today and came home with a new toy for our anniversary/Christmas - a Mossberg 500!
Up to 3" shells, wood stock, ported 28" barrel, drilled/tapped for rails, 3 choke tubes, twin bead sights (very nice over the single I've previously used on an 870), and of course all the potential modifications one can think of!

I don't do a lot of shooting that warrants a shot gun, but I'm going to be getting my hunting licence relatively soon, and my range just opened a 5-stand range, so I'll be getting plenty of use out of this soon.
I'm pretty excited about it, and have planned a range day tomorrow to blow shit up with it.

Replacing drywall is easier than replacing a family.
I'd love to deck it out, get a shorter barrel, tac stock, some sort of close range optic. I love tactical shotguns.

Realistically so long as  you aren't involved in illegal narcotics or a gang you won't need to replace anything :P The majority of crime out there is opportunistic. Unloncked/open doors, throwing away new high dollar item boxes on the driveway, leaving car windows down, etc.

crazy but I actually kinda respect him for being honest... fessing up and saying at least he had the balls to spill his secrets. any other politic.... especially American... would ride lies til death. takes some bravery to own up to your faults. we all have them. anyone who thinks they do not must be a soulmate to Otis' sister Julie. lol!!

And I've added another to my arsenal.  Well, I traded one for another.

Last summer I traded my Savage Mk II bolt action .22 for a Mossberg 715t Tactical .22.  Worst mistake yet.

It ended up being a lemon.  I couldn't go any more than 5 consecutive rounds before a jam of some sort, mostly being FTF.

So I tried selling it.  Nobody wanted to pay money for it.  I came across an ad for a 9mm pistol and thought why not offer a trade.  To my surprise, the guy actually wanted it.

I got it in the mail today, and have been dry firing this thing all night.

It's a Chinese copy of the Sig 226, called a Norinco NP22.  It's a very close copy, with most parts being completely interchangable.

I'll hopefully be bringing it out to the range this Sunday, if I get my paperwork in order (Canada is retarded, I need special papers from the RCMP saying I can bring it to the range on that specific day)

So far I'm happy. I got to trade in a POS plastic rifle for a nice aluminum alloy 9mm pistol that comes with 4 mags.  I've got my holster on the way, and once that comes in I'm diving into the world of IDPA shooting.
